The Social Justice + Media Symposium is an annual gathering for students, faculty, and stakeholders from across the country to explore how media practices and pedagogies can support equity, justice, and positive social change in daily life. Founded and coordinated by the Engagement Lab at Emerson College in Boston, MA, the 2024 Social Justice + Media Symposium will be hosted by CUNY Queens College.

Taking place on March 1, 2024, this year’s Symposium will examine  the idea of Movement, from organized direct action to the body in motion to supporting the mobility of the immigrant diaspora of Queens, the most diverse county in the United States. The Symposium will explore the concepts of  culture, connection, and creating, while considering diversity, visibility, agency, and safety in an ever changing world.
