Illustration of an orange-canopied tree with a happy face on it

About

Written and illustrated by Emerson student Gracie Rosenberg, "Molly the Maple and the Forest Friends" tells the story of maple tree Molly, whose friendly forest is disturbed by the approach of bulldozers. Crafted with an audience of children in mind, this sweet story is a call to the next generation to be good friends to nature.

A Look Inside the Co-Creation Process

Emerson students on a walk through the woods

Social Impact Studios, facilitated by the Engagement Lab, give Emerson students and faculty the opportunity to work directly with local grassroots changemakers to co-create media projects that will make an impact in Boston and beyond.

Molly the Maple and the Forest Friends was created as an individual project by Gracie Rosenberg, in Fall 2023’s Social Impact Studio "Creative Expression for Climate Justice," which was held in partnership with Speak for the Trees Boston and the Fairmount Indigo CDC Collaborative.
